Hot air rises - as adults we all know this concept but as children there seems to be some magic in watching an ordinary garbage bag float around the room. Filling a bag with the hot air from a hairdryer is an easy way to astound your young scientist. At Fremont Kid's Academy we try to coordinate the learning of preschool curriculum with fun and exciting activities. We have been focusing on learning the shape, sound and symbol of the vowels. This particular activity was associated with the letter A and U. We filled the bag with air and all the children made the sound of A. Then we watched the bag float up and all the children made the sound of U.
These types of activities will help prepare them for the letters, sounds, and activities they will see in kindergarten. Repetition is important so feel free to do these things at home as well.
