Using stencils is a great way to have letter recognition become a tactile game. When the teacher says, "find me the letter G." The hunt is on, and the game continues until all the letters are found. Variations include finding all the letters in a child's name, or all the letters of the week. Once the letters are found then the children practice tracing the shape or coloring in the stencil, depending on their age.
This game works for children as young as 10 months all the way up to school age, and they all have fun playing it.
