Fremont Kid's Academy parallels kindergarten in our teaching methods by providing the children in our care with exposure to sight words. Each week we choose a different set of words to help the children identify. These words are the same ones on the sight word list in kindergarten. The way we teach the words is to point them out when we are reading, put them on the board and consistently help the children to identify the words without sounding them out. By the time the children in our care reach kindergarten it is our goal that all of the material they see in class will be review of what they have learned at Fremont Kid's Academy. The words they are working on this week are have, do and no. With any luck they will be reading those words by week end.
