Celebrating cultures, holidays, and customs is a great way to teach children the value of human life and help them to see the love in their family. Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful for all the wonderful things we have and spending time creating art with the children in our care is a perfect way for Fremont Kid's Academy to express our thanks.
Fremont Kid's Academy provides wholesome, nutritious meals to all of the children in our care. Today black beans were on the menu and the faces of the happy children.
Fremont Kid's Academy is a place where children are safe and always learning. When one of the children in our care brought a butterfly glider for show and tell we took the opportunity to discuss glide ratio, and the children loved being able to see the relationship between the forward versus falling movement of the butterfly.
Building forts is a game we have all played as a child, and the tradition continues at Fremont Kid's Academy. Falling perfectly into our curriculum philosophy of using Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math as teaching tools, building forts is a perfect combination between engineering and art. As instructors we encourage the game by asking leading questions that help the children figure out the best way to erect the structure and how to make it beautiful and functional. We normally prevent children from eating on the floor, but today, their building innovations were rewarded with snack in their tent.
Children express their love for family and friends daily. At Fremont Kid's Academy we embrace these relationships and support them through recognition and recording.
All the children at Fremont Kid's Academy had a wonderful Halloween dress up day and enjoyed showing off their costumes.
