At Fremont Kid's Academy we offer the children in our care many opportunities to be creative. Whether it's painting, digging, singing and dancing, building or cooperating with their friends we provide ample choices of ways to express themselves.
A very easy activity to do with children of all ages is painting on half a piece of paper and folding it to get a mirror image. At Fremont Kid's Academy we have perfected the technique by watering down acrylic paint and using a squirt bottle to make half shapes on one side of a paper.
Children of all abilities can do this activity and they all stay clean. Here are some examples of what the children in our care created. Pretend play is a huge milestone for toddlers. It signifies a cognitive development that allows children to expand their knowledgebase exponentially. Pretending to cook dinner, or build a house, or play with magic are all ways that children show us how deep their understanding goes.
At Fremont Kid's Academy we encourage children to pretend with us and with each other. The children at Fremont Kid's Academy have been learning about growing fruits and vegetables in the garden. They are enjoying the early radishes.
Childcare is a great place to have a garden that the children can work in and they get to enjoy organic produce, right from the ground. Every meal at Fremont Kid's Academy is a group event and all the children in our care are involved in the preparation of meals as well as the clean up. We all sit together to eat, and we talk about our day and the activities we completed. The children and staff LOVE meal times.
We are learning about mirror images today at Fremont Kid's Academy. Painting on half a page and then folding it over makes a great butterfly design that is a perfect mirror image. These paintings are so easy to do and quite clean too.
Children can become absorbed in the activity they are concentrating on and get lost in learning. At Fremont Kid's Academy we encourage learning at all levels and love to see it when children are enjoying themselves.
Everyday has that special time when we sit down and read to the children in our care. At Fremont Kid's Academy we have created a tradition that when any of our families go on vacation they bring us a children's book from where they went.
The result is that we have books from all over the world, in many different languages and with a huge amount of diversity. Playing is so important for children that at Fremont Kid's Academy we base a majority of our curriculum and activities in play.
We use STE(A)M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) activities in a play setting to allow the children in our care the freedom and creativity to learn at their own pace and with their own personality. Learning to mix colors can be a beautiful experiment in rainbows and primary colors...or it can turn into a beautiful brown painting. The children at Fremont Kid's Academy enjoyed making the latter design on their papers.
Engineering with this set of gears is a task that the children at Fremont Kid's Academy love to tackle. Creating new ways to put together the spinning toys is an engaging process that keeps the children thinking and working together.
Fremont Kid's Academy is now enrolling for summer. We have a space available for an infant and another space available for a toddler. We offer a nurturing home environment, webcam monitoring access for parents on a secure server, and a STE(A)M centered preschool curriculum.
STE(A)M is a curriculum philosophy that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math as tools for teaching. By allowing the children in our daycare program to be creative they are able to learn and express themselves in new and exciting ways every day. Contact us for a tour of our program today. At Fremont Kid's Academy we have a large focus on preschool curriculum, we emphasize the STE(A)M subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) but sometimes it's important to just let the children play with each other and socialize. Riding around together on a red wagon is fun and allows time to get to know each other.
Today we are learning about gravity and the forces that interact with gravity, like friction. If you ask the children in our care at Fremont Kid's Academy what makes things fall down, they will tell you "gravity!"
If you ask them what makes things slow down, they will tell you "friction!" Here they are experimenting with the friction on different objects and which will slow down fastest. What goes up, must come down...today at Fremont Kid's Academy we are learning about the forces of gravity. We are having gravity races on the slide using both circular balls and wheeled vehicles. The children in our care are taking guesses as to which type of object will win the race.
Learning to recognize the letters of the alphabet is easy when it's made into a fun coloring game. The children in care at Fremont Kid's Academy enjoy coloring activities no matter what the subject matter is, they are so proud of themselves when they see the marks they make on the page.
Playing with technology can lead to imaginary play and innovative thinking. This door has lots of different uses and the children pretend that it's the entrance to a castle, garden, house, and tunnel...and that's just today. Who knows what it will be tomorrow?
At Fremont Kid's Academy we value a connection to the natural world and help the children in our care learn to grow fruits and vegetables. We have a garden that the children love to work in and we use it for our science curriculum on a regular basis.
Fremont Kid's Academy encourages the children in our care to enjoy learning about math, art, science, engineering, and technology. We provide activities that allow them to be creative and scientific.
Creating hand prints with the colors of the rainbow is a example of teaching the color sequence of a beam of light through a prism. Learning to feed themselves is a task that the children in care at Fremont Kid's Academy love to practice. We encourage them to try with their fingers and with utensils. We also help them to transition to sippy cups from bottles.
At Fremont Kid's Academy children in our care have many opportunities to practice their drawing, writing, and coloring skills. Today we had blank papers of different colors and crayons of all colors. The children got to use their imagination to create pictures and shapes.
Playing outside can be hard work! At Fremont Kid's Academy we have lots of options for activities that the children might choose. One day they can work on the excavator, the next they might choose to play with the baby dolls as a mommy or daddy. Or they might bring the baby along on the excavator.
Building structures with playdough and straws is fun, educational, and gets the creativity flowing for the preschoolers at Fremont Kid's Academy. Creating the best structures, learning from mistakes and rebuilding to make better structures prepares the children in our care to be great scientists and inventors.
Each child had a different idea about what kinds of structures they wanted to build and each child had a different interpretation of a what structure should look like. Children at Fremont Kid's Academy interact with each other every day and become best friends very quickly. We foster a family environment and encourage the children in our care to treat each other as they would extended family members.
