Structured curriculum in childcare is an important component of a complete preschool program. At Fremont Kid's Academy we incorporate all of the necessary preschool subjects to prepare the children in our care for kindergarten. However, we also believe it is important to give children time to play freely and choose their own activities. Blocks, construction paper, and many toys give lots of options for free play.

All week long we've been working with shapes at Fremont Kid's Academy. The culmination of all of our two dimensional study is a play session with three dimensional shapes, also known as blocks. The children were able to make the connection between the two dimensional paper shapes they've been making collages out of and the three dimensional blocks they are making structures from.

Self feeding is high on that list and oh so much fun to practice. Multigrain Cheerios are perfect candidates for first self feeding foods. They are easy to pick up, healthy, and taste great.

Playing outside with the wagon is a fun way to teach taking turns and cooperation. At Fremont Kid's Academy, we function as a large family and today the older children gave the younger children rides in the wagon.

We have a strong curriculum plan but we also value the relationships that the children have with each other and with the care providers. Affection and positive recognition are tools we use to foster a deep connection between all individuals.
Playing house is more than just pretending to be an adult. It includes many social dynamics, and in this case engineering. The children at Fremont Kid's Academy worked together to put up this play structure and are enjoying the benefits of their engineering.
Children love to find their autonomy in any way they can, and being able to ride the big kid toy is a sure way to get that elated feeling of being a kid, not a baby.
Fremont Kid's Academy curriculum is based in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) We use science and art together to create a fascination for learning in our youngest students. Recreating the insect anatomy with egg cartons and paint is a perfect way to make learning about them fun and education.
