Fremont Kid's Academy Supports Nursing Moms

Breastfeeding is one of the best things you can do for your baby and supporting it is one of the best things your care provider can do for you!

Fremont Kid's Academy strongly supports and encourages our working moms to continue breastfeeding their babies at home and providing us with pumped milk during the day.

To make this process easier, follow these guidelines:
1. Label all containers of milk with a name and date as well as a "discard after" date. This way we will know when the milk is fresh and when it needs to be used by or discarded.

2. Store milk in the same quantity as the baby usually drinks...if baby is regularly taking 5 or 6oz bottles then store your milk in the same size bag. This way, less milk will be wasted and the bottles will be quicker to warm.

3. Provide a labeled bottle that your baby is used to drinking from...this will prevent confusion at home and keep all gear separate for your baby.

4. Pump often at work and breastfeed your baby often at home. The breastfeeding cycle is very depended on frequent feeding and pumping, the less you pump or feed, the less milk the breast will produce.

Fremont Kid's Academy is committed to helping moms stay connected with the choices they make for feeding their babies. If breastfeeding is on the agenda, we support it in every way possible.
